Learn about the Texas Association of Structural Movers (TASM)
The Texas Association of Structural Movers (TASM) was organized by a group of movers to foster and promote the association of persons whose work is prinincipally concerned with the moving of Houses, Buildings, Bridges, Ships and other Structures. What is Structural Moving? We like to think of Structural Moving as the world’s oldest and largest recycling industry. The most common reasons for moving a structure are to 1) to preserve its historic nature, 2) to make room for a new structure, or 3) to make use of it at another location. Structural Moving not only preserves historic structures and prevents wasteful demolition and unnecessary landfill, but it is a great source of affordable home improvement.
Where did it come from? Did you know that first record of a house being moved is in “The Survey of London” dated to 1598 by John Stow. (Volume 13, No. 2 issue of the Structural Mover) The International Association of Structural Movers just commemorated 400 years of house moving: 1598 to 1998.
How Do I Find the Right Mover? We have provided an easy to use Member Directory by region. You can also use our Online Quote Engine to send a request for services to all TASM members who can choose to compete for your business.
