Hello Fellow Movers,
Hope all is well with everyone. North Texas is doing well. There has been lots of work, cooler temperatures and just enough rain to keep the grass green and growing enough that we still have to mow every week.
The fall board meeting was held on October 17th & 18th in Houston at the Houston NASA Hotel where the upcoming meeting will be held on January 27th thru the 30th. Many plans were discussed and seminars are being lined up. Continuing education classes along with our friends from TxDot will be on the lineup. A yard tour will also be on the agenda for Thursday. We are in the process of lining up our usual vendors along with the possibility of adding some new ones. On Friday afternoon we have a trip planned to NASA which is only 2 or 3 blocks away. Currently the shuttle is there loaded on the transport plane. This is really a BIG deal. This is really a nice hotel and there are lots of things to do nearby. Cherry’s yard is only about 15 to 20 minutes away. Maybe George McMillian will have something up on stilts. Matyikos along with Davie Shoring are also lifting houses in the area. There are a lot of interesting things to come and look at. The Kehma Boardwalk with awesome restaurants and shopping is only a few minutes away. Everyone please get your reservations in early.
As all of the regular members are aware of the board has been looking at acquiring the services of a management company to manage the affairs of the association. I sent out a letter asking our members to vote on this matter. The vote was approved by a large majority of the members. The board is currently looking at several companies to lead us into the future. As of magazine publishing date we have not chosen a company.
I hope to see everyone in Houston next January.
